Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platforms. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that produced Hamilton. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than one century. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
